Hospital Tour - for siblings!

At the end of March we visited the hospital for a sibling tour of the maternity ward where we'll deliver our second. Elise brought along her pony as her special animal to visit the delivery room and see the little babies in the nursery. The nurse giving our tour allowed each visiting child to weigh their animal or baby on the scale & see the warming table where they'll place the new babies, as well as the special beds where mommy will be that can move up and down.

The final stop on the tour - the postpartum room where family can visit. An interesting change from our first time there is that they now observe quiet hours or naptime hours from 2-4pm each day for new parents/babies. They don't allow visitors during this time. I am all for this change! It was a bit surreal to be back there and know that our delivery is coming up very shortly! We're getting excited.

I need a Flat Bow, Mommy!

A few days ago, Elise was busy getting herself ready in the morning, and decided to wear her princess party dress that she wore for her 3rd birthday. She brought me one of her white bows and was sobbing uncontrollably about how she needed it to be flat. This particular bow was not designed to be flat, so I showed her that I couldn't get it flat, and that she could try if she wanted. She was near hysterics that it wouldn't go flat, and that I should try because my fingers were stronger. I called John at work and left him a message...more like an S.O.S. to ask if he had a good solution for a flat bow. This bow drama lasted for a good half hour with a teary toddler, and then I decided to get my ribbon box out, and we created our own flat bow, and looped it around a little barrett. If you ask me, her original bow was much prettier...but this must have been the look she was going for...ahh the drama!

Family Pictures

I'm realizing that I haven't documented this pregnancy with any pictures, so in an effort to try - we took some a couple weekends ago. Thankfully I have been feeling great. Life at our house has been busy and so the weeks keep ticking by, but we have managed to pull out the baby clothes from 0-6 months, and I have them all washed and ready in the dresser and closet. We have some diapers and wipes & they are ready in the basket as well.

33 Weeks - only 7 more to go!

Elise continues to call this baby "Rosebud" and so this nickname may stick around for awhile.
She has been busy recognizing letters on the keyboard and she's very interested in words and what things spell. They have been studying different animals at preschool, and she's brought home some of the cutest art work.

New Hair Cut

Elise got her haircut! After blow drying her locks for nearly 30 minutes to get them dry...I decided that perhaps a haircut was in order before baby #2 arrives. She has wanted to get a cut, and we think it suits her perfectly! The stylist cutting her hair trimmed 7.5 inches! She was 2.5 inches away from donating to locks of love - but we just couldn't wait.
She likes feeling it on her cheeks, and she couldn't wait to surprise daddy when he got home from work with her new-do!

My favorite color is pink and purple!

We have been slowly putting together Elise's big girl room & making it her own. She has enjoyed the process of putting together her furniture (Ikea) and setting it all up. I have gone through all the toys & we have designated all the small pieces and princess accessories to her room. It's quite a change from our former guest room, but it's very girly and she loves it!
I'd like to put up a few more pictures and some art on the wall - but that will come together eventually.
